Marvin Dalbey, a former resident of Vining, passed away Friday, April 18th at his home near Chariton, Iowa. He was a son of Andrew Jackson and Martha Dalbey and was born in Olin, Iowa on March 20, 1875. Services were held from the Beardsley, Funeral Home at Chariton on Monday morning at 10 o'clock and from Hrabak's Funeral Home at Chelsea that afternoon at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. J. Irvine Walker of this city was the officiating minister. The body was laid to rest In the National Cemetery at Vining.

Former Lumberman, Mr. Dalbey was engaged in the retail lumber business in Greenwood and Osceola, Nebraska, and in Glenwood, Vining and What Cheer Iowa, retiring from business In 1929. He was twice married and the children of the first marriage are Raymond of Alton, Illinois, Charles of Long Beach, California, and Mrs. Irene Thomas of Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was married to his present wife the former Agnes Mochal Tressic of Vining, Iowa, on May 18, 1916 and they have one son, Dr. Glenn Dalbey, now of New Orleans, Louisiana. Mr. Dalbey was one of a family of eleven children, and had six brothers and four sisters, many of whom have preceded him in death.
