Bessie Nell Oden Tanner was born Nov. 16, 1912, in Greenville to Joseph and Blanche Shelton. She was raised and attended school in Denison. She was married to Alexander G. Oden, who preceded her in death. She was a former nurse and a retired nursing home administrator. She was a past worthy matron of Mount Auburn Chapter of the Eastern Star, as well as a longtime member of East Grand Baptist Church. Mrs. Tanner was a resident of Lake Forest Good Samaritan Village.
Survivors: Her children, Bettye Shanaberger of Denton, John Oden of Springtown and Lanelle Davis of Whitt; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and her true and loyal friend, Edward "Red" Borom.
