In 1954 he graduated from Sylvester High School and in 1958 he graduated from the University of Georgia. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and became a lifelong supporter of the University of Georgia football program. He was a founding member of the Pineknoll Country Club and a founding member and board chairman of Worth Academy. Mr. Bozeman was instrumental in developing subdivisions in Sylvester and Worth County. He was a member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia; a member and served on the Board of Professional Insurance Agents of Georgia; a member of the Individual Agents and Brokers of America; designated as a Certified Insurance Counselor; and an avid hunter and salt water fisherman.
Funeral services will be held at Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church on Dec. 28, 2009 at 2 p.m. Interment at Hillcrest Cemetery. Rev. Bill Reincheld and Rev. Dorsia Atkinson will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Banks Funeral Home. For those desiring, memorials may be made to the Lifespring United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 806, Statesboro, Ga. 30459.
Survivors include his wife Catherine Farmer Bozeman of Sylvester, Ga.; daughters and sons-in-law Kelly Bozeman of Sylvester, Ga., Debbie Lewis and husband Russ of Moundville, Ala., Gina Walters and husband Geoff of Wilsonville, Ala.; ten grandchildren Nichole and Michael (M.T.) Bozeman of Sylvester, Ga., Jake Bozeman Kotter of Sylvester, Ga., Kristen, Russ Jr. and Charlie Lewis of Moundville, Ala., and Bo, Zeke, Tommi and Logan Walters of Wilsonville, Ala.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers W.D. (Billy) Bozeman and James W. Bozeman, Jr. and one sister Evelyn B. Almand.
