He married Susannah Lydia LaPorte in about 1801 in Jefferson Co, Ohio.
They were the parents of 15 children: George Leeport; Mary; Peter Beeson; Nancy; John McCaslin; Elizabeth; Sarah; Hannah; Benjamin Bentley; Susannah; Benone; Issac Pearson; Isiah Morris; Martha; Abraham Heflord.
A gravestone marker was erected in 1900 on Cades Hollow Road, in Sect. 26 of Fountain County, Indiana. It merely states "IN MEMORY OF PETER BABB'S BURYING GROUND 1826 to 1849"
The wording on the single stone marker leads one to believe that possibly some of his children or other members of his family might also be buried there.
