GRACE JUNE MOE
Grace June Moe, nee Bell, the daughter of Hattie and William Bell, was born in Hebron, Nebr., January 19, 1876, and passed away in her home near Scandia, April 30, 1956, at an age of 80 years, 3 months and 11 days.
She came to the Scandia community at the age of 11 years, and was graduated from Scandia high school May 23, 1895. She was united in marriage to Albert Moe on August 16, 1898 who is left to mourn her passing. She taught school during three years in the Kackley community in the Little Brick school house.
Her father and mother and an infant son have preceded her in death. Besides her husband four children mourn her passing. They are, Paul Moe, Burbank, Calif., William Moe of Scandia, Russell Moe of North Hollywood, Calif. and Katherine Miles of Ontario, Calif. One sister, Mrs. Maggie Carlson of Courtland; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends who are left to mourn her passing.
She has been a resident of the Scandia Community throughout her married life. Eight years ago in August she and her husband celebrated their 50th anniversary of married life.
Some three years ago she made her decision for Christ in her daughters home in California. Later she became a valued member of the Amana Lutheran church. During her illness she was tenderly cared for by her husband, and the final summon came to her in the home she loved so well, surrounded by her children and her husband.
Funeral services were conducted at the Amana Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon, May 2, with Rev. N.H. Pearson officiating. Burial was in Riverview cemetery, Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart in charge.
