Born January 17, 1917 in Mitchell County, Mr. Bullard was the son of the late William Webb Bullard Sr., and India Manry Bullard. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WW II. Mr. Bullard was a retired fourth generation farmer and cattleman on Bullard Farms having been a longtime breedeer of champion registered Black Angus cattle. He served as past president of the Mitchell County Cattlemen's Association and past president of the Georgia State Cattlemen's Association. Mr. Bullard was a member of First Baptist Church of Camilla where he served as a deacon and former Sunday school teacher and Sunday School Superintendent. He also served as former member of the Mitchell County School Board.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Bullard, and five sisters, Hazel Bullard, Hilda Murphy, Chloe Bullard, Jane Logan and Gene Hughes.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Betty Gober Bullard of Camilla; two daughters, India Sumner and husband Gene of St. Marys and Lu Bullard of Camilla; one son William Webb "Bill" Bullard III and wife Lydia of Camilla, four brothers, Walter Bullard of Sale City, Fred Bullard of Camilla, Louie Bullard of Macon and Harold Bullard of Leesburg; a brother-in-law, Jerrell Hughes of Auburn, AL; four grandchildren, Frank Sumner & wife Mega of Hillard, FL, Kimberly Yarborough and husband David of St. Marys, Bray Anna Bullard of Camillya, and William Webb Bullard,IV "Will" of Camilla; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Yarborough, Isaiah Sumner, and Emalee Sumner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2008 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home.
