EX-COLORADO CITY MAN DIES AT 35
COLORADO CITY (RNS) ~~ Fred Jones Jr., former resident of Colorado City died Wednesday at Silver City, New Mexico of pneumonia after a short illness. He was 35.
Funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Kiker and Son Funeral Chapel here with the Rev. Clarence Collins, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Colorado City Cemetery.
Jones, scout for an oil company was born here April 27, 1922 and was graduated from high school here. He attended Texas Tech College at Lubbock and the University of Texas.
Before going to Silver City about 1-1/2 years ago, he lived in Midland.
Surviving are one daughter, Nancy Jones of Midland; his father, Fred Jones, Sr. of Jayton, his mother, Mrs. Sol Kelly of Midland; and one sister, Mrs. Jan Kelly Harper of Midland.
