"Be still and know that I am God" Our beloved son, father, brother, and best friend passed away from this earthly life on the morning of December 21, 2003, at his home in Salt Lake City, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Coalville, Utah on October 27, 1943, a son of Kenneth and Ila Winters Bean. The first years of his life were spent in Rockport and Wanship. After moving to Sandy, he graduated from Jordan High School. He lived life and was always looking at the bright side. He had a passion for the game of golf and played that game with all of his energy. He married Charlene Kangas, later divorced. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his faithful friend and companion Carolee, his mother and two sons, Tony of Santa Monica, CA and Jonathan of Salt Lake City; one brother Jack of Seattle, WA; two sisters, Carol Ann Young of Tooele and Pat Downward of South Jordan. Preceded in death by his father and a nephew, Dustin Downward. Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 2350 E. 1300 So., where friends may call Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Interment Wanship City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests you make donations to the Cancer Institute. "Now you know how much I hated winter!"
