Irene Louise Gogerty, 89, of Longmont, Colorado died January 31, 2010 at Life Care Center of Longmont.
She was born October 10, 1920 in New Salem, N.D. to Henry and Mary Brigham. Her family farmed in North Dakota.
Irene married John F. Gogerty on May 7, 1940 in Mandan, N.D.
She moved to Longmont in 1956 from Redondo Beach, Calif.
Irene worked in retail grocery sales. She also was a manager of Food Service at the Longmont FAA Center and retired in 1992.
She was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church in Longmont. Irene donated to numerous charities and supported many missionaries. She also enjoyed sewing, making dolls and doll swings, reading, gardening, flowers and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John; a son, Larry Gogerty and a brother, Hank Brigham.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Gogerty (Caroline) of Jansen, Nebr. and Dan Gogerty (Chris) of Greeley; her brother, Robert Brigham (Doris) of Torrance, Calif.; two sisters, Nita Plant of Torrance and Virginia Weibel of Memphis, Tenn.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services have been held and were entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Front Range Hospice at mailed to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
