She was born Feb. 3, 1951, in Madison, the daughter of Donald and Frances Tilley McAlister. She was a homemaker, a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church and attended Prince of Peace Catholic Church with her husband. She was a member of the women's auxiliaries of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. She enjoyed bowling, softball, and golf and loved University of Kentucky basketball. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren's' sporting events.
She is survived by her husband, John C. Kaltenbacher, whom she married Aug. 27, 1985 in Inverness, Fla.; one son, Kenneth W. Garrett of Hanover; one daughter, Kendra L. Perry of Hanover; one step son, John M. Kaltenbacher of Holland; two step daughters, Cinda Starcher of Pomeroy, Ohio, and Michelle Ruffin of Texas; three brothers, Donald McAlister Jr., Michael McAlister and Danny McAlister, all of Madison; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral was at Lytle Funeral Chapel. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery of Carrollton, Ky.
