Martha G warden, aged 87 yrs 9 mos and 6 days, died 17 Mar 1915. The deceased was born 1 Jun 1827 near Glasgow, Howard, MO, and was married to W E Warden on 16 Apr 1846. Five children resulted from this union, namely: Vinnie, Dexter, Horace, Lela and Stonewall Jackson. Of this number Horace alone survives her.
The deceased joined the Christian Church at the age of 14 under the preaching of Elder Wm Burton, a pioneer preacher of Missouri, and has led an examplary Christian life up to the time of her death.
Pallbearers at her funeral were J C Furman, Alex Chisholm, Wm Barnard, Ed Boone, H L Nett and M A Wellman.
The Wardens were among our most respected citizens. The resided in the Sun River Valley for the past twenty-five yrs.
