Son of Nolan and Elizabeth (Turner) Hobbs of Dallas, Alabama. Married Ethel Thomas 15 May 1918, in Montgomery, AL. Two daughters, Cleo Constance Hobbs Clay (1922-1999) and Lolita Romero Hobbs (1937-2005. His wife, Ethel, died in 1992. Grover attended Moody Bible Institute briefly in Jan-Feb 1929.
