James H. Kluck, age 71, of Stevens Point, WI, passed away on Nov. 1, 2002, at St. Michael's Hospital. Services were held at the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, the Rev. Al Jakubowski officiated. Burial was held in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Shuda Funeral Chapel assisted the family.
Mr. Kluck was born Jan. 30, 1931, in Milwaukee, WI, a son of the late Harry and Louise (Malek) Kluck. He graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1949. He played professional baseball in 1950 and 1951.
He entered the U.S. Army at Fort Sheridan, IL, in January 1952, serving in Korea from June 1952 until June 1953. He earned the Combat Infantry Badge, the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars and the United Nations Medal. He was discharged as a sergeant at Camp Atterbury, IN, in October 1953.
He married Betty "Joyce" Long on May 17, 1952, in Owensboro, KY. They returned to Stevens Point where he worked for Sentry Insurance from 1956 until his retirement in 1996. James was a member of American Legion Post 6.
Survivors include his wife, Betty "Joyce"; four sons, Matthew (Mary), Centerville, OH, Mark (Kathy), Stevens Point, Tim (Lisa), Antigo, and Greg (Lynn), Weyauwega; one daughter, Lori (Jay) Anderson, Plover; and 12 grandchildren.
