Don Bleak
Joseph Don Bleak, 67, died Nov. 24, 1996, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. Funeral services will be Nov. 29, 1996, at 2 p.m. at Mortimore Funeral Home in Thermopolis with Mike McGee officiating. Graveside services will be in Lusk Nov. 30 at 2 p.m. Memorials are to the family.
He was born June 17, 1929, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to William and Tamar (Young) Bleak. He joined the Army in 1947 serving in the medical corps in Korea and Japan. Following the service, he worked at the CM Ranch in Dubois as a hunting guide and ranch hand. He moved to the Crowheart area working on several ranches. There he met Donna Sanderson whom he married Dec. 7, 1958, in Morton. They divorced in 1975. In 1970 he began working for the Dixon Ranch in Lance Creek. In 1975 he was employed as a roustabout in Lance Creek and later became oil field superintendent of the Buck Creek Oil Field for Meridian Oil Co. He retired to Thermopolis in 1990. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading and bird watching. Survivors include sons Newt and Dan of Laramie; brothers, Newt of Thermopolis, Dave of Arco, Ida., Jim and Sam of Shelley, Idaho, and sister Bertha Boardman of Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Roy; brothers Bill and Richard and sister Persis.
