He Was a Popular and Successful Young Business Man.
J. "Corrie" Adams
died last night at 11 o'clock at his home, Seventh and Marshall Streets, of typhoid pneumonia. This announcement will carry sorrow into the homes of a large number of people who had the pleasure of knowing this good man.
Mr. Adams was one of Little Rock's best business men. He was a member of the firm of Mashburn & Adams and engaged in the general merchandise business at Seventh and Gaines Streets, where they did an extensive business.
Mr. Adams was born and reared in Saline county, near this city. He married Miss Mattie M. Ball, who, with two children, survives him. Mr. Adams was 20 years old at the time of his death.
The funeral will be held at the residence tomorrow at 10 a.m., and the interment will be at the old family cemetery in Saline County, at 12 o'clock. Rev. Reynolds of the Baptist church and the Masons will conduct the services. [from the Arkansas Democrat, Wednesday, May 13, 1903, page 5]
