George was just a little inch long "feeder" goldfish, bought to season a new aquarium. They usually die in just a few days. George didn't. George lived for eight long years, reaching a lenght of nine inches and a weight of nine ounces. He was a MONSTER of a goldfish! He died of old age on Sunday, May 1st, 2011 in Bellevue, Washington, his lifetime home, surrounded by his family and friends. He was well loved by all, especially the grandkids, and will always be missed. George was buried lovingly in the hazelnut grove on the Bellevue property. He swims in sunny climes today, and in very warm water. And thus was born the legend of George the Goldfish.
