Samuel Donald Fowler, 85, died in his home in Fort Worth on Thursday, April 28, 2011. Memorial service: 3 p.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Chapel at Greenwood Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial gifts to be made to the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, www.franklloydwright.org.

A longtime resident of Fort Worth, Sam contributed to several of Fort Worth's landmarks as an architect. He was project architect for the Bank of America tower downtown, Tandy Center, and TCC Northeast Campus to name a few. He was also an avid fisherman, spending many hours on the local lakes with his friends. One of his greatest loves was his red 1951 MG TD that he purchased on July 4, 1951, and continued to drive until his death. Sam was preceded in death by his wife, Lavern Fowler, and brothers, Jimmy, Bill, and Jerry Fowler. Survivors: Sister, Dixie Curtit; son and daughter-in-law, Curt and Nancy Fowler; daughter, Marina Slemmons; granddaughters, Kathlyn Scarborough and Lydia Fowler.
