JACOB S. MAUST

Jacob S. Maust, 85, of Berlin R.D., who left 135 living decendants, died last Sunday evening at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Simon Engleka, after an illness of three months.

He was born in Somerset County, a son of Samuel and Christina (Ringler) Maust. His wife, Mrs. Mary (Miller) Maust, died 27 years ago. Surviving are seven children - Adam, Meyersdale, R.D. 1; Francis, Berlin R.D. 4; Samuel, Berlin; Andrew, Bellflower, Cal.; Benjamin, Buffalo Mills; Mrs. Engleka, mentioned, and Mrs. Carrie Waltusk, Jenners. Four children died in infancy. He was a brother of Christian, Peter and Henry Maust, all of Meyersdale R.D. 1, and Wilson Maust, Johnstown. Also surviving are 49 grandchildren and 79 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning at the home of his daughter. Interment was made in the Springs cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Son, Berlin. Mr. Maust was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church, Berlin.
