G.W. Ewer, 70, Dies in Evanston

EVANSTON—George Wesley Ewer, 70, Evanston, died Friday at Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Mr. Ewer was born Nov. 12, 1895, in Evanston, the son of George and Pauline Cain Ewer. He married Leona Whittle Jan. 30, 1918, in Ogden, Utah. She died in 1965. He was a veteran of World War I and the owner of the George W. Ewer Cleaning and Tailoring Co. in Evanston.

The deceased was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Medicine Butte Post No. 41 of the American Legion and IOOF Lodge No. 4.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Betty) Christensen and Mrs. Wayne (Frances) Johnson, both of Evanston, and Mrs. Duane (Joyce) Bond, Ogden, Utah; two brothers, Elmer, Yakima, Wash., and Bernard, Ogden, Utah; two sisters, Mrs. James (Esther) Palmer, Evanston, and Mrs. Arthur (Eleen) Barlow, Ogden, Utah, and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Gilbert Bills Funeral Home in Evanston. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday evening and Monday prior to services. Burial will be in Evanston City Cemetery. Graveside services will be given by the American Legion.
