GREEN COUNTY KENTUCKY OBITUARY – 1970

Rev. N.L. Cantrell, age 86, son of the late Mr. John Lewis Cantrell & Mrs. Eliza Bell Thomas Cantrell was born March 11, 1884 in Green Co. and departed this life at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 1970 at the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Brush Creek Baptist Church at the time of his death. He had served as minister for 68 years.

He was united in marriage to Martha [sic - Lizzie] Milby in 1903 and to this union were born 3 daughters and 1 son. Surviving are: Mrs. Cecil Wright, Greensburg, and Mrs. Nancy Collings, Louisville, Mr. Arvin Cantrell, Greensburg. He is also survived by 1 brother: R.E. Cantrell, Greensburg; 4 sisters: Mrs. Bessie Dunn, Hodgenville; Mrs. Lula Kelly, Greensburg; Mrs. Maude McCubbins and Mrs. Vina Pollard, both of Louisville; 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 1970 at Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Perkins Cemetery. Rev. V.A. Jones officiated. Pallbearers were James Thompson, Wayne Wilson, Taylor Wright, Billy Joe Cantrell, Jim Wright and Carlie Wayne Franklin.
