Decatur Daily Review 3/23/1944
Dr. John E.Eislager, 84, for 37 years a practicing dentist in Decatur died in St. Mary's hospital at 11 am yesterday. He had been ill for the last two months.
Dr. Elslager was born in Lancaster, Pa. Dec. 26, 1859 [sic]. Later his family moved to Indianapolis, Ind. He came to Decatur from Cerro Gordo in 1906.
He leaves his wife, a son Dr. Hubert H. Elslager, a daughter, Hazel, both of Decatur and a brother, Charlie, and sister, Mrs. O.F. Richter both of Indianapolis.
The funeral will be conducted in the Dawson & Wikoff funeral home. Burial will be in the Fairlawn mausoleum.
