Phyllis J. Groen, 83, of the Norway area of Monticello, died at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2011, at St. Elizabeth East hospital in Lafayette.
She was born Jan. 18, 1928 in Rensselaer to the late Andrew and Emma Summers Fase. She married Arthur H. "Art" Groen Sr. on Sept. 24, 1947 in Mount Greenwood, Illinois. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Dorothy L. Kampenga (husband: Dave) of Wheatfield and Alyce K. Collinsworth (husband: Lloyd) of Monticello; four sons, Thomas J. Groen (wife: Paula) of Highland, Richard L. Groen of Monticello, Robert A. Groen (wife: Mary) of DeMotte and Arthur H. Groen Jr. (wife: Coletta) of Tinley Park, Illinois and two brothers, Andrew Fase (wife: Nancy) of Escanaba, Michigan and David Fase (wife: Judy) of Oklahoma.
