Arthur Gendron Dies; Assessors Board Member

Arthur T. Gendron, 57, of 49 Spring Street a former town official here died Tuesday at his home after a brief illness.
He formerly served as a member of the Enfield Board of Assessors and was a member of the Democratic Town Committee for many years. He was also a communicant of St. Patrick's Church and was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the Pacific war theater.
Gendron was born here Dec. 20, 1905, son of the late Samuel and Mary Tierney Gendron and was a lifelong resident of the community. He was a graduate of Enfield High School.
He was formerly employed as a machine operator at the Hamilton Standard plant at Bradley Field.
He leaves a sister, Mrs. Charles O. Smith of this town; a brother, Frederick Gendron of this town: and two nieces and two nephews.
The funeral will be held Friday at 8:45 a.m. at the Browne Funeral home on 121 Pearl Street, Thompsonville and at St. Patrick's Church at 9:30. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Old Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7 to 10 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.
