Herman W. Bohn was born July 15, 1892, son of William and Auguste Bohn, in Grant Township, rural Ventura, Iowa. Herman was baptized and confirmd at St. John's Lutheran Church. Herman's first wife, Carolina Elizabeth Wrede, died 11 days after giving birth to daughter, Lois Elizabeth on August 21, 1928. Carolina died on Sept. 1st, 1928 and is buried in Concord Cemetery, Garner, Iowa.
Herman remarried on Sept. 25, 1930, to Clara Elizabeth Pueggel, daughter of Frederick and Bertha (Lade) Pueggel.
They farmed and the family were members of St. Johns Lutheran Church. Herman died March 16, 1963.
