Mrs. Abbe died in a Lawton hospital on sunday, January 18th. She was born Elizabeth Agnes Hurst, the daughter on Mr. & Mrs. David Hurst, at Worth, Missouri on 13 January 1891. She moved to Oklahoma in 1908 and was married to George Smith of Walters February 14, 1909. They made their home on a farm near Walters. Three children were born to the union. Mr. Smith passed away on May 28, 1922. She married Aaron L. Abbe in 1930 and he died in 1948.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Gore of Temple, Mrs. Georgia V. Smallwood of Walters; one son Ernest Smith of Walters; two step daughters, Mrs. Eva Barfield and Mrs. Maxine Foster of Marietta, Oklahoma; one step son, Ralph Abbe of Gainesville, Texas. Also three sisters, Miss Ollie Hurst and Mrs. Lena Riley of Worth, Missouri and Mrs. Laura Thrasher of Allendale, Missouri; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and thirteen step-grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren.
