Former Resident Dies in Montana Tuesday

Edwin Eugene Dobbs Dies in Hospital at Great Falls After Short Illness

Edwin Eugene Dobbs, a former resident of Sauk Centre, died at a hospital in Great Falls, Montana Tuesday, according to advices received in the city Wednesday morning.

Mr. Dobbs, who was 66 years old, was born in New York state and came to Sauk Centre when he was a lad of nine years of age. Here he grew to manhood and twenty years ago went to Minneapolis where he engaged in business. About two years ago he removed to Great Falls.

Deceased had been ill but a few days. He was taken to the hospital last Friday where he submitted to an operation.

Mr. Dobbs never married. He is survived by five brothers, George J. of Sauk Centre; John of Minneapolis; James D. of Fife, Mont.; Ralph H., and Chester of Seattle, and two sisters, Miss Mollie and Mrs. Kate Momie, both of Seattle.

The body will be brought to this city for burial and is expected to arrive either Friday or Saturday. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Dobbs Funeral Held Monday

The funeral of Edwin Eugene Dobbs, who died at a hospital in Great Falls, Mont., was held in Sauk Centre Monday afternoon.

The body, accompanied by a brother, J. D. Dobbs, of Fife, Mont., arrived here Monday morning. Services were held out of the Adventist church, Rev. S. A. Ruskjr. Officiating and internment took place in Oakland cemetery.

Mr. Dobbs, who was 61 years of age at the time of his death, passed away following an operation which resulted in blood poisoning. Some weeks prior to his death, Mr. Dobbs was injured while dismounting from a wagon. Complications set in and an operation followed. He died early Monday morning.

Those from out of town present at the funeral were: J. D. Dobbs, of Fife, Mont., Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Dobbs, and Loyal Dobbs, of St. Paul. The deceased was a brother of Irving Dobbs of Sauk Centre and was an old resident of this city.

Body of E. E. Dobbs Will Be Sent East

GREAT FALLS, Jan.10—The body of Eugene E. Dobbs, who died here Wednesday as the result of injuries received a few days previous at the ranch of his brother, J. D. Dobbs, near Fife, will be forwarded to Sauk Center, Minn., for burial. Dobbs for 25 years was a member of the firm of Dobbs Bros., wholesale dressmakers supplies, 1027 Nicolette avenue, Minneapolis. He is survived by two sisters and five brothers, as follows: Miss Molly Dobbs, Baldi, Wash.; Mrs. Louis Monnie and Ralph Dobbs of Seattle; Dr. C. C. Dobbs of Mount Vernon, Wash.; A. J. Dobbs of Minneapolis; Irving Dobbs of Sauk Center, Minn.; and J. D. Dobbs of Fife, Mont.

Dobbs was fatally injured when he leaned from a hayrack and was struck in the groin by a timber projecting from the rear of the wagon. J. D. Dobbs of Fife will accompany the body to Sauk Center.
