U.S. Congressman. Successful in banking, he was director-cashier of the Bordentown Banking Company, New Jersey. In 1871, he was elected as a Democrat to the Forty-second Congress, serving until 1873. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he returned to his banking interest and then lived in retirement until his death at 78.
