He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Josephine Carline; a brother, Tunney Carline; a sister, Mazey Patterson.

Carl retired after 35 years of dedicated service as a Construction Superintendent for the Superior Service Co. He was a Corporal in the Army 82nd Airborne, during the Korean War. He was active in the Atchafalaya Restoration Program. Carl was known as the local bee keeper. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He was a commercial fisherman, avid hunter, and alligator fisherman.
