HELEN BEVAN SWANN, 90, of South Point, Ohio, passed away Monday, May 5, 2008, at home. She was born October 1, 1917, in Proctorville, Ohio, daughter of the late Mary Phillips and Charles Harrison Bevan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thurston B. Swann; two brothers, Edward and Fredrick Bevan; and one son-in-law, Michael C. Smith Jr. Helen was a loan officer at First National Bank and was a member of Chesapeake Methodist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Karen S. Smith of Berlin, Md., Mary Beth Davidson and her husband Richard "Tom" of South Point, Ohio, and Pamela Musick and her husband Larry of South Point, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Matt Ward, Mark Ward, Jill Starr, Kerri Virgin, Paige Delapa, Sara Tadak, Aimee Hammond, Natalie Zuzovsky and Todd Smith; 14 great-grandchildren; special caregiver and friend, Delores Merritt; and her loyal dog Patches. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio, by Pastor Charles Lane. There will be no visitation. Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington.
