He was a Private serving in New York under Capt. Isaac Benedict and Col. William Stone. William was married two times. William's first wife was Betsy (Hill) Morse (1797-1835). They were married on March 9, 1820 in Cuyler, Cortland County, New York. William and Betsy had at least four children together including: Adaline Sutton, William Addison, Warren Hill and Betsy M. Morse. William's second wife was Louisa H. (Cushing) Morse Bassett (1815-1889). William and Louisa were married on July 11, 1836 in Cuyler, Cortland County, New York and they had eight children together including: Alderett, Alcander, Lucy, Ruth, Lydia, Henrietta, Arthur and Zella Morse.
