Leonard G. "Smoky" Lerch, 80, of Hanover, died Sunday, March 29, in Hanover Hospital.

Born June 26, 1917, in Connellsville, he was the son of the late Andrew and Anna P. (Parkhill) Lerch. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary E. (Baker) Lerch.

Mr. Lerch was a member of Hanover American Legion Post 14; Humpback Pilots Association; China Burma India BASHA Association; and Covenator Church, Connellsville. He attended the Church of the Nazarene, Hanover.

A World War II veteran, he served with the U.S. Army Air Corp.
