He was preceded by a young brother Danny McAdams and a sister Ruby Anderson.
They were married on August 20th, 1950.
Not long after they were married, he joined the US Army and served in the Korean war. He quit school in the 9th grade to help support his family and later joined the military. While serving, he was able to pass all testing and receive his high school diploma. When he returned home, he started school at Colorado state and graduated with a 4 year degree in physics. He and Lois then moved to Iowa where he continued his education in physics and graduated with his doctorate in 1964. He then took the position as a professor of physics at Utah state university in Logan, Utah and that is where he and Lois made their home until 2008. At that point they moved to Monroe, NC to live out their retirement.
