She died when she was age 55 because she had type 2 diabetes for as long as I could remember, she said it started around age 36. I remember Gr.pa used to give her insulin shots twice a day and helped her check her sugar several times a day. He always used to take such good care of Gr.ma and seemed to love her so much. She was hardworking and took her caring for Gr.pa very seriously and anyone else that needed her. She would sit on the front porch in a rocking chair and rock and sing hymns, she loved to sing to Jesus. She had such a strong faith in Jesus so surely if anyone goes to Heaven my Gr.ma has to be there.
I remember I would always ask her questions and she never seemed to get tired of my constant talk and I'm glad for if I hadn't I wouldn't have known the things I needed to start researching her and gr.pa's family tree.
Gr.ma and Gr.pa lived in an old school bus behind Uncle Othel's house and they had a feather bed. Gr.ma would fluff that bed every morning and make it up, they had an old wood stove for heat and for cooking and gr.pa would bring in water for them. It was a small bus but they had everything they needed, they took care of each other, they were a team.
I love you Gr.ma and I've missed you so much and I hope one day thru Jesus to be with you again, your gr.daughter, Kay.
