Annie Mae Donavant, 77, of 1201 Spruce St., Martinsville, died Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Blue Ridge Rehab Center, where she was a resident.
She was born in Henry County on Oct. 18, 1930, to Luther Ashby and Elizabeth Braddon Ashby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Stone; and a brother, James D. Ashby.
She graduated from Martinsville High School and retired from Memorial Hospital in Martinsville. She was a member of Chatham Heights Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Edgar Daniel Donavant of the home; a daughter, Mary Mayo; two sons, James M. Donavant and Daniel Lee Donavant; and five grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Roselawn Burial Park with the Rev. Dr. Mike Hatfield officiating.
