Ennis Avon "Andy" Anderson, 81, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011. Celebration of life: 2:30 p.m. Friday at New World United Methodist Church in Arlington. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please send donations to New World United Methodist Church Endowment Fund. Andy was born Sept. 5 (or 6, depending on whom you ask) in Hopkins County to Sudie and Henry Anderson. He grew up on a farm as the 12th of 13 children. He met his wife, Joy, at Tyler Street United Methodist Church and they were married Sept. 23, 1950. Andy was proud to serve his country in Korea. Upon return, he and Joy started their family and family business, Arlington Carpets. He was full of love and kindness and he never met a stranger. Andy loved the Lord, his family, his church and his many friends. He also loved woodworking, gardening and bird watching. He was active in New World United Methodist Church, Rotary, Kiwanis and the Men's Garden Club. He loved to talk history with anyone he could. Survivors: Wife, Joy Anderson; brothers, Kenneth Anderson and Arlon Anderson; sister, Dorothy Monroe; children, Terry Dunklin, Becky Anderson and James Anderson; and 11 grandchildren.
