Harold Waldo Mason enlisted in the U. S. Navy on June 22, 1944. He received the American Area: Victory WW II, Asiatic Pacific & 2 Bronze Stars in 1946.

He completed Electricians Mates School Class "B" on March 25, 1955 in Great Lakes, ILL, and was transferred to Newport, Rhode Island.

He completed his courses for Electrician's School on March 22, 1957, and was transferred to his first submarine (USS CONGER SS-477), He also served on the (USS SARDA SS-488), the (USS DIABLO SS-479), and the (USS GATO SS-212).

While in New London, Conn., he completed Instructors Indoctrination Course and graduated in 1958.

He served a couple of months on the USS Guavina AOSS-362, before being transferred to the USS TORSK SS-423 in Norfolk, Virginia.

He was promoted to Chief Electrician mate on February 20, 1961.

His last duty was to serve on the USS REDFIN-272.

He officially retired on May 28, 1964, after 20 years of service.

Harold Waldo Mason was the son of Edward Earl Mason and Claire May Phipps Mason. Harold married Mildred Ann Megill on December 15, 1950 in Penns Grove, New Jersey.
