Obituary:
Myers Funeral Held at Caro Saturday
Funeral services for Clarence R. Myers, president of the State Savings Bank of Caro and one of the Thumb region's most well known and respected citizens, were held at the Caro Methodist Church Saturday afternoon at three o'clock. Many persons were present to pay their last respects to the Caro leader.
Myers was 61 years old when he died from three successive strokes, from which he never recovered consciousness.
He was active in politics and in civic affairs. Some of the many positions he held included terms as village clerk, commander of Atwood post No. 7, of the American Legion, past president of the Caro Rotary Club, past president of the Caro Board of Commerce, and many offices in fraternal organizations.
Besides his term as village clerk his political positions included prominent work in Tuscola County Republican party, serving as secretary five years. He was delegate to the national convention in 1924.
Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Harry Crandell, of Cass City; his daughter [*], Mrs. Tressa Farris and his mother, Mrs. Henry Myers, both of Caro.
(Cass City Chronicle, March 30, 1951, pages 1 & 12.)
[*] This is a misprint. Tressa Farris was a sister of Clarence R. Myers.
