US Congressman. A pre-War member of Captain John G. Walker's company of Texas Rangers, during the Civil War he served in the Confederate Army, rising to the rank of Major in the 1st Texas Infantry regiment. He was elected to represent Texas's 7th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1883 to 1885.
