Ronald Paddock, a former Wauconda National Bank official and former farmer, died Friday at Condell Memorial Hospital, Libertyville. He was 71.
He was born July 18, 1916 in Wauconda Township and had been a successful farmer in the Wauconda and Volo area for 25 years, retiring in 1961.
One of the founders of Wauconda National Bank in 1948, he served as vice president and a director until 1981. He was a past president of the Lake County Farm Bureau, the Lake County Agricultural Extension Council and the Pure Milk Association. He was a past director of the Lake-Cook Farm Supply, The Lake County Board of Health, the Lake County Civic League and the Wauconda Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of Transfiguration Catholic Church, Wauconda.
Survivors include his widow, Margaret; three sons, Vernon of Gurnee, Roger of Hampshire and Kenneth of Woodstock; a daughter, Elaine Downing of Spring, Texas; and two brothers, Everett of Waukegan and the Rev. Father Richard of Elburn.
Funeral services were scheduled for today with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, McHenry."
