HICO, W.Va. — Rubal W. Browning, 79, of Hico, passed away Friday, May 6, 2011 in Oak Hill following a long illness.

Born April 29, 1932, at Spice Creek, he was a son of the late Sherman and Edna Blankenship Browning. Also preceding him in death were four sisters, Zina Wiley, Elzora Grimmett, Ollie Browning and Ival Collins, and two brothers, Homer and Jimmy Browning.

Mr. Browning was a retired self-employed owner and operator of his sawmill at Hico. He was a member of Ansted Baptist Church.

Survivors are his loving wife, Annie Lou Browning; two sons, Stephen Browning of Hico and John (Cindy) Browning of Ames Heights.; sisters, Emma (Bill) Mitchell of Verner; sister-in-law, Edith Browning of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, May 9, at the Verner Community Church with family from 5-6 p.m. and friends from 6-7:30 p.m. with services beginning at 7:30 p.m. with Pastor Walter Grimmett officiating.

Visitation will follow Tuesday, May 10, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ansted with family from 5-6 p.m. and friends from 6-7:30 p.m. with services beginning at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Robert Keaton and Pastor Walter Grimmett officiating. Entombment will follow Wednesday at Chapel of Rest Mausoleum at Victor.
