FUNERAL RITES HELD FOR PIONEER RESIDENT
Funeral services for L. S. (Ted) Doolittle were held Sunday August 23, 1942 at 2 o'clock P. M. from the Congregational church in Priest River with Rev. Owen Zurcher officiating and Rev. Willard Crosby Lyon assisting.
The church edifice was filled with the many friends and neighbors who had gathered to pay their last respects to one who had lived so long among them. Many beautiful floral offerings were in evidence.
Vocal selections were rendered by Mrs. Howard McInnis and Mrs. Martin Brudle, being accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Owen Zurcher.
Mr. Doolittle had been in failing health for some little time and a few weeks ago underwent an operation in Spokane. His condition, however, continued to grow worse and passed away at the Newport hospital Thuraday, August 20.
Lafayette S. Doolttle was born August 18, 1877 at St. Croix, Wisconsin and had lived in this community for the past twenty years, following the occupation of a lumberman and rancher. He was 65 years of age at the time of passing.
The dceased is surveved by three daughters Mrs. Clarence Baker and Mrs. Fred Wright of Priest River, and Mrs. Ralph Marshall of Northfork; two sons, Darrell and Lyle of Priest River; three brothers, Fred, Frank and Wallace of Priest River; and one sister; Mrs. George Hughes as well as 16 grandchildren.
Interment was made in the Priest River Cemetery.
