Mr. Wise was Past Master of Sandy River Masonic Lodge #207 where he was a member for over 61 years. He served on the Chester County Hospital Board, North Chester School Board. and was recipient of the H.H. Jefferson National Pulp Wood Association Safety Award. He was a registered Forester, and retired from Canal Wood Corporation as an area supervisor.
Survivors include his wife of over 56 years, Nellie {Jackson) Wise, son; Ray Wise and his wife Deborah, of Chester, SC, two daughters; Virginia Wise Dore' and her husband Rene' of Findley, OH & Pamela Wise Robinson of Chester, SC; six grandchildren; James Ray Wise of Spartanburg, SC, Sarah Elizabeth Wise & Lawrence Wesley Wise both of Chester, SC, Gabriel Kathleen Dore' of Findley, OH, Charles Lawton Robinson & Daniel Ray Robinson both of Rock Hill, SC.
Interment in the church graveyard followed funeral services and Masonic rites conducted at the Calvary Baptist Church on Friday, December 18, 2009; Rev. David Sealy officiating.
