He grew up in West Point, and graduated from Davis High School. On July 29, 1942, he married his best friend and eternal companion Melva Odd in the Logan Temple. They spent sixty-eight wonderful years together.
Darrell faithfully served his country in the United States Navy, proudly being a veteran of World War II.
Darrell lived in Hooper, West Haven, and most recently in Washington, Utah.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and served in many callings including: Counselor in three Bishoprics, Stake Executive Secretary for 10 ½ years, Stake Missionary President, and Elders Quorum President. He served missions at Martin's Cove, Cove Fort, and St. George Cannery. He also was a Merit Badge Counselor.
Darrell enjoyed hunting, camping, and building. He proudly built six of his family's homes. He was an all around handyman, and he could fix anything.
He is survived by his wife, Melva, and seven children; John Darrell Page, West Bountiful, Dianna (Wynn) Farr, West Haven, Sally (Jay) Elwood, West Haven, Ryan Leonard (Marlene) Page, Lehi, Jeneene (Guy) Bergeson, Roy, MaryLou Page, Salt Lake City, Lena Kent McBride, Lake Powell Mobile, Arizona, 31 grandchildren, and 41 great-grandchildren.
Darrell was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Joseph, daughter-in-law, father, mother, four brothers and one sister.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of Utah and Crestwood Care Center.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at the Regal Country Ward, 3939 West 4000 South, West Haven, Utah.
Interment in the Hooper City Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded.
