Frederick P. Albright Sr., 77, of Parkersburg, passed away May 7, 2011.

He was born on Aug. 1, 1933, in Parkersburg, a son of the late M.P. "Jinks" Albright and Catherine Rathbone Albright.

Fred was President and C.E.O. of Belpre Furniture. He was a lifetime member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, where he served as a cryptographer. Fred was a member of American Legion Post 15, Parkersburg, V.F.W. Post 1212, Order of Eagles 2307 and B.P.O.E. 198.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen G. Albright, former Mayor of Parkersburg; his children, Cathy (John) Whitlatch of Parkersburg, Frederick P. (Rick) Albright Jr. (Kathy) of Parkersburg and Mary Beth Albright of Parkersburg; three grandchildren, Allan (Missy) Lantz, Andrew (Kaylynn) Lantz and Elizabeth Lantz; three great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Amy and Calvin Lantz; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph P. Albright.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with Father Eric Hall as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 15. Family will receive friends from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with recitation of the Rosary at 8 p.m. today.
