Belfast and Monson – James Tolford Durham, 83, died June 23, 1986, at a Belfast hospital. He was born in Belfast, Dec. 19, 1902, the son of James Clinton and Gertrude (Ferguson) Durham.

He was a graduate of Belfast HS, class of 1922, and attended St. John's Manlius and briefly the University of Penn., which he left for a year of hoboing in modern style. In mature years he was manager of Northport Mountain Springs and was in Lumbering ventures. In 1947 he and his brother John, founded Moosehead Manufacturing, as it is known today. He was also a member of the Masons.

He is survived by one son, Tolford A Durham of Goffstown, NH; one daughter, Jo ann (Durham) Huff of Greenville; four grandchildren, Christopher Huff of Hampden, Carla Hanson of Greenville, Timothy Huff of Bangor and Colleen Huff of Greenville; four great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Durham of Monson; one cousin, Grace Hayward of Belfast; one niece, Van Wentworth of Monson; several nephews, grand-nephews, grand-nieces and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Rackliffe Funeral Home, Belfast, with the Rev. Frank A Pitman officiating. Interment will be in Grove Cemetery, Belfast. (Republican Journal)
