Richard Edward Bray

Richard Edward Bray, 77, Paris Crossing, passed away at 7:10 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Kindred Transitional & Rehabilitation Center, Greenwood.

He was married for 22 years to Drucilla Jane Litton Bray Gearries, who preceded him in death, and he was the son of Cecil John and Karalin Carrie Taylor Bray.

He served in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne from 1952 until 1955.

Jackson County survivors include a daughter, Penny McNew, Paris Crossing.

In keeping with the family's wishes, cremation is planned and no services will be held.

Arrangements were entrusted to Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service, North Vernon.

Richard Edward Bray, 77, of Paris Crossing, died at 7:10 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Kindred Transitional & Rehabilitation Center in Greenwood.

In keeping with the family's wishes, cremation is planned and no services will be held.

Arrangements were made by Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon.

Mr. Bray is survived by a son, Richard John "Ricky" Bray of Indianapolis; daughters, Penny McNew of Paris Crossing, Tammy Bray Wagner Yokley of Indianapolis and Pamela Sue Bray Carter Purdue of Scipio; a brother, Erwin Robert (Sharon) Bray of Norfolk, Va.; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Drucilla J. Litton Bray Gearries.
