Elwood Harrison "Tuck" Owens, Sr., 87, of McCauley Pike died Sunday, May 8, at his home. Tuck was a native of Jessamine County and son of the late Sam and Bessie Hager Owens. He was a life long farmer and member of the Kentucky Game Fowl Breeders Association. Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years Meredith Brumfield Owens, children Janice Sharp, husband Norman, Delmar "Joe" Owens, wife Judy, Sarah Sizemore, husband Chet, Tommye Bell, and Theron Owens, wife Edna, grandchildren Andrea Holder, husband Troy, Jessica Snyder, husband Dewitt, Kelly Sharp, wife Viva, Zarathustra Owens, Justin Sizemore, Doug Owens, wife Laura, Joshua and Jacob Owens, great grandchildren Samantha, Patrick and Bridgette Holder and Calla Snyder, a sister Imogene Lowery, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Elwood Harrison Owens, Jr. in 1990 and a grandson David Vinson Bell, 3 brothers Albert, Odell, and Samson Owens.

Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, May 13, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with his nephew Burt Wayne Walker officiating and he will be laid to rest with his son at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Honoring him as pallbearers will be family members. Honorary bearers will be Ray Smallwood, Billy Carson, Tommy Masters, Buddy Brumett, Juan Davis, Buck Hager, T. C. Propes, Sr., and T. C. Propes, Jr.. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday, May 12 at the funeral home.

Donations may be made in his memory to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
