Judson F. "Jud" Brawner Jr., 70, of 219 Stonehenge Circle, died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, at Edgefield County Hospital.

Survivors: wife, Mary Louise(Tremer)Brawner; sons, Rick Brawner of Central and Bob Brawner of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; daughters, Lynn Rearden of Edgefield and Beth Farmer of Spartanburg; a sister, Helen Petry of Memphis, Tenn.; and six grandchildren.

Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home. Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Edgefield First Baptist Church. Burial: Sunset Gardens Memorial Park.

Miss Mary Louise Tremer Weds Mr. Judson Brawner Jr. In Thursday Afternoon Ceremony.
The marriage of Miss Mary Louise Tremer and Judson Brawner Jr., was solemnized Thursday, August the twelfth, the wedding vows being exchanged at four o'clock in the afternoon in the home of the bride's aunt, Mrs. C. R. Rankin.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Tremer of Atmore, and I he groom is the son of Mrs. I Mary Lou Brawner of Atmore Rev. Norman H. McCrummen officiated, using the double - ring ceremony.
An improvised altar was formed against a background of smilax, the central arrangement of white pom-pom, mums and glads was flanked by candelabra holding tall white tapers which were lighted by Pepper Brown, cousin of the bride. Smilax entwined the stairway, down which. Miss Maudie Rhodes, maid of honor. Miss Helen Brawner and Miss Carolyn Tremer, brides maids, preceded the bride who was given in marriage by her father.
Miss Rhodes wore yellow organdy. Miss Brawner was lovely in pink organdy and Miss Tremer was attired in green organdy. They all carried pom-pom mums. George Crook served as best man.
As the wedding guests were assembling, a program of nuptial music was rendered by Mrs. N. H. McCrummen, pianist, and Alan Davis, soloist.

The bride was beautiful in the I lovely lace Chantilly dress worn over organdy and taffeta. The i bodice fastened down the front with tiny covered buttons and featured long tight sleeves and a high neck. The scalloped skirt was I ballerina length. Completing her ! costume, she wore a finger-tip veil of bridal illusion attached to a ! coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of feathered carnations, centered with a purple-throated orchid.

Mrs. Tremer, mother of the bride, wore a pink lace dress with blue carnation corsage. Immediately following the ceremony there was a reception. The bride's table, overlaid with an embroidered Irish linen cloth, held the tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and bridegroom. Silver candelabra held wedding tapers and silver comports held green and white wedding mints and toasted nuts. The cake was cut first by the bridegroom, after which Miss Ruby Hawke completed the cutting, with Miss Betty Powell and Mrs. Howard Shell assisting in passing sandwiches, nuts and mints. Mrs. J. E Hawke and Mrs. Richard Hodson poured punch. Miss Sylvia Davis was in charge of the bride's book.
For traveling the bride changed to a two piece white ensemble with which she wore an orchid blouse and an orchid corsage. On returning from the wedding trip to Miami, the couple will reside here.
