Winnie Ree Matthews, 72, a longtime Broken Arrow resident, died April 19, 2011, at Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Services were held April 25, 2011, at Church of Christ of Whispering Hills, Broken Arrow, where she was a member.
She was born Aug. 13, 1938, at Broken Arrow, to Raymond Cotner and Vera (Johnston)Cotner. She gradutaed from Broken Arrow High School. She earned a bachelor's degree and worked toward a masters degree. She was a retired music teacher. She married Glen Ray Matthews on June 6, 1960 at Broken Arrow.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Jim. She is survived by her husband, Glen of the home; children DeAnn Deason, David and wife Heather Matthews, and Dustyn and wife Mary Ann Matthews, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
