RUBY E. HINES
PONTIAC: Cerebral hemorrhage caused the sudden death of Mrs. Ruby Elizabeth Hines, 61, wife of W. A. Hines, an officer at the Illinois State Reformatory.

She passed away at 6:30 o'clock last night, February 22, 1934, at home, 721 Lincoln Street.

Funeral services will be arranged on arrival of her daughter, Miss Maurine Hines, from her home in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles, CA.

Surviving Mrs. Hines besides her daughter and her husband and a son, William F.; two sisters, Mrs. Rowena Hamer, Chicago; and Miss Pearl Spellman, Atlanta, GA; three brothers, Ralph A. Spellman, Garland, NC; Royal B. Spellman, Indianapolis, IN; and Roscoe A. Spellman, Onarga; and her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Spellman, now 92 years old, who is living with her son in Indianapolis. He father died in 1914 at Tuscola.

Mrs. Hines was born in Iroquois county near Onarga, IL on April 13, 1873, a daughter of Isaiah and Elizabeth Spellman. When 18 years old, the family moved into Onarga. Following graduation from the Onarga high school she was educated at the Grand Prairie Seminary in Onarga. Miss Spellman was married to W. A. Hines in Onarga in April of 1897. After their marriage they came to this city.

Mrs. Hines was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal Church.
